WARM WELCOME TO OUR NEW INTERCULTURAL WORSHIP ENABLER

A little bit about Mazen

Christopher Mazen (likes to be called Mazen pronounced Maizen) hails from Shreveport, Louisiana. It was there in the pews of the Galilee Baptist Church that his call to the music ministry began. After graduating university with a BA in Church Music he moved to Germany for three years to serve the International Baptist Church of Stuttgart as the Worship Arts Leader. During that time he visited other European countries (Poland, Norway, Italy and Russia) conducting Gospel choir workshops. In September 2017 he finished his Masters in Arts in Mission from All Nations Christian College, a mission training school 45 minutes north of London. His masters project culminated in a Sunday service celebrating new songs written by the youth of the community. This effort was to acknowledge their unique culture and sound as youth of the diaspora from Africa. From there he moved to Singapore to serve the International Baptist Church of Singapore as their Worship & Arts Director from 2018-2021. In March of 2022 he released his first album entitled Divine Immigrant, which served as an artistic memoir celebrating the voices of everyday people from around the world.

Mazen starts working with us this week and will be making a major contribution to our worship this Sunday coming.
